Following a € 500.000 investment, Final Distribution, the importer of the Gerard, Delta and Keylite brands, opened a gutter & downpipe production line in Baicoi, Prahova. Under the Novatik brand, the rainwater system produced in Baicoi will provide a 3.5 mil. meters of downpipes as well as 1 mil. meters of gutters.
"After five years of being present on the construction materials market as an importer of premium brands, timespan that brought us economic boom as well as crisis, at the end of last year we decided it's time to invest in our own production line. We decided to produce guttering systems because they integrate very well with the other brands in our portfolio, providing the customer with a complete roofing system and also because it's part of the "one stop shop" strategy we want to promote in Romania. In addition, in the rainwater systems market there are still very few local brands that can respond to the Romanian people current needs", stated Dan Mircescu, General Manager at Final Distribution.
Novatik provides a complete rainwater system through 4 product categories intended for end customers as well as for merchants & producers:
- End customers: NOVATIK Ronda (half-round model) and NOVATIK Quadra (square model)
- Distributors: NOVATIK Prima (raw materials) and NOVATIK Plus (tools & equipments)
"NOVATIK is intended for the residential market segment, coming with an attractive price ensured by the local production, which will make it available for most of this market customers. For 2011, we expect the Novatik brand to be as much as 17% of our company's turnover", added Dan Mircescu.
The gutter & downpipe market in Romania is estimated at a value of € 20 mil., but the local production represents less than 30%. For 2011, Final Distribution estimates sales of over € 1 mil. for the Novatik brand.
Final Distribution ended 2010 with more than € 4 mil. turnover, maintaining at the level of 2009. For 2011, the company estimates a turnover increase of approx. 20% due to extending the products portfolio.
